Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh fruit chopped (watermelon, pineapple, cantaloupe, or honeydew)
  • 3 cups filtered water
  • 1-2 tablespoons granulated sugar or maple syrup
  • 1 fresh lime juiced
  • Ice cubes for serving
  • Fresh lime slices for garnish optional
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish optional

Instructions

  • Wash and chop your chosen fruit into chunks. Remove any seeds, pits, or tough skins as needed.
  • Add the chopped fruit, water, lime juice, and sweetener to a high-speed blender. Blend on high speed for 2-3 minutes until the mixture is completely smooth.
  • Pour the blended mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a large pitcher to remove any pulp or sediment. This step is optional but recommended for a smoother texture.
  • Taste the agua fresca and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar or lime juice as desired. Stir well to combine.
  • Serve immediately over ice in tall glasses. Garnish with lime slices and fresh mint if desired. Can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
